ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

In accordance with Section 103 of Article 5A of the General Municipal Law, the Town of Bolton, New York hereby invites the submission of sealed bids for the Rogers Memorial Park Improvements and Visitor Center project. Bids will be received by the Town of Bolton until 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Town Clerk’s Office, Town of Bolton Town Hall, 4949 lake Shore Drive, P.O. Box 7, Bolton Landing, New York, 12814, at which time all bids will be publicly opened in the Town Board Room and read aloud.

In accordance Section 135 of the New York State Finance Law, commonly known as the “Wicks Law,” the work will be divided into the following Separate Prime Contracts:

  • 1 – General Construction
  • 2 – Plumbing Construction
  • 3 – Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Construction
  • 4 – Electrical Construction

The Work of these Contracts, as described in greater detail in the Contract Documents, is summarized as follows: Abatement of one small building and demotion of two small buildings; site preparation, erosion control and earthwork operations; construction of a new approximately 1,800 SF wood-framed Visitor Center, new rest room building, and new gazebo; site plazas, retaining walls, sidewalks, and landscaping. The Work is scheduled to begin in September 2015 with Substantial Completion to be achieved by March 2016 for the building and structures, and by June 2016 for all site work.

The Contract Documents may be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office, Town of Bolton, Town Hall, 4949 Lake Shore Drive, P.O. Box 7, Bolton Landing, New York, 12814, between the hours of 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM local time, Monday-Friday, beginning on Monday, August 10, 2015. Payment of a refundable deposit of Fifty U.S. Dollar (U.S. $50.00) will be required for each set requested. Only complete sets will be issued. Checks will be refunded to the bidder upon return of bid documents in good condition (as determined by the Owner) within 30 days of bid opening.

Prevailing Wage Rates for Warren County apply to all work performed. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid is required to be submitted with the bid. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in the amount of the contract price in the form described in the Contract Documents will be required from the successful bidder.

This project was prepared for the New York State Department of State with funds provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund. The Contractor is required to make a good faith effort to meet the Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) goals set by the State of New York, which are 10% MBE and 10% WBE.

The Town of Bolton reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in or to reject any or all bids submitted.

   Warren County is in the process of developing a registry for full and part-time residents that may need additional assistance during an emergency for use by local emergency responders.  Those who choose to share the information will be asked to provide their age and address, whether they are hearing impaired, whether they have any equipment like oxygen tanks or need dialysis, or have a pacemaker or defibrillator, or medication that requires refrigeration. They are can also detail any other serious medical issues, and whether they are mobile, or need assistance to walk.  The information will also collect the names of emergency contacts.  Any information regarding language barriers may also be included.  www.warrencountyny.gov/emergency/registry/
